Your safari starts from our HQ in Arusha, a bustling town located on the green slope of Mt. Meru. The trip will take you East along winding dirt trails away from the lush area surrounding the mountain and out into the savannah scenery of the Maasai plains and Majestic Kilimanjaro on the windward (western side) of it and in between Mount Meru.
You will ride towards the wall of the Great Rift Valley at the base of which stands the mighty volcano Ol Donyo Lengai. After exploring this area of awesome, desolate beauty you will ride back to ‘civilisation’ at the Maasai trading post of Longido. Last day you will leave bikes behind and jump on Safari Jeep to go on the endless plain of the Serengeti through Eastern corridor.
Ol Donyo Lengai where we will spend two nights is an active volcano which last erupted in the 1960’s. It is revered by the Maasai as the home of ‘Ngai’, their god. It’s almost perfect cone looms over an area of astonishing barren beauty. At the foot of the mountain there is an area of rocky desert. Here we find the cones of small extinct volcano, and Lake Natron, a huge soda lake, which stretches up to the Kenyan border. Flamingos come here to breed and in the late afternoon sun the colourful flamingo colonies make a spectacular sight, adding a dash of colour against the shimmering water.
Meet and greet from Karanga Adventure Tours staffs, from JRO airport you will be taken to the lodge for a refreshing , in the evening you will meet the bikes for personal adjustment and trial. If flying with Qatar airways the plan will be well blend.
In the evening we will take you to Arusha famous street for a dinner BBQ (vegetarian meals also available). On this evening we will give briefing for the next day activities. After dinner we will take you around for a drink if interested but if much tired we will return you to the lodge for a rest of the night.
This trip will be ideal for game viewing and meet the tribesmen of Tanzania, Maas-ai-Hadza and Datoga. The lodges are located in different natural lakes which is an ideal place to view wild animals.

Crocodiles were introduced to Lake Chala in the 1930's. According to legend they were brought in by E.S. Grogan, a British explorer who became famous for walking from Cape Town to Cairo in 1898. The terrain is totally unsuitable for crocodiles to breed, there being no beaches or sandy areas to make their nests. In the early 1990s fishermen, angry that their nets were continually being destroyed, began a program to eradicate them. There are no longer any crocodiles left in Lake Chala and the lake is safe for swimming; however as everywhere in Africa it pays to be careful

This day will be an awesome day since the ride will be from the Windward side of Mount Kilimanjaro to the leeward side of it. Two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo will be visible in the morning and evening. This is also a chance to pass over different Chagga people whom are regarded as the typical conservators of Mount Kilimanjaro. On this day we will take picnic lunch, and if we’re lucky we might be able to see mountain primates such as black and white Colum- bus monkeys and blue monkeys on the forest reserve.
The ride will pass over earth road and newly tarmacked roads, the distance will be 140km and we will be arrived at Maasai Lodge for dinner. The camp is situated in between Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru. You will have an awesome view of both old volcanic mountains.

On this day, we will ride on the typical African roads; dust, sand and gravel up to the small town of Longido. This is an adventure ride on a very dusty trail way down into a huge gorge where resident wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and antelopes gather for grazing land and water. The last 50 km in this leg is a sandy and stony track cut in the rift.
While here, we are going to visit the largest soda ash lake, Lake Natron, Engare Sero waterfalls and views of Oldonyo Lengai.
We will experience the Maasai culture, traditions and customs. Meals will be prepared in native way with high hygienic standards and Maasai warriors will give us a dance while enjoying the barbeque.

We don't carry Gamow bags. This is because for altitude the best treatment is descent; either on foot, stretcher or by helicopter; dependent upon the severity of the situation and which means of evacuation is accessible given location and weather. A Gamow bag creates an artificial environment where the air pressure is increased, simulating descent; however, it cannot be moved once a person is inside as pressure must be maintained. This makes it practically impossible to descend. Once removed from the bag the casualty is back in the same situation as before. It is therefore only really useful if a casualty is unable to descend for some reason. In all other cases starting the descent as soon as possible is preferable. Since Kilimanjaro is a freestanding mountain, different from the Himalayas, it is relatively straight forwards to descend without having to climb higher over mountain passes. There are only a few places where any ascent would be necessary to evacuate. If you would still prefer to climb with a Gamow bag this can be arranged at an extra cost.

I had an extra day to spare in Arusha after climbing Kilimanjaro and doing a safari, so I booked a solo one day rental with guide on a whim. I booked the day before, they brought me all the gear to test the night before (I didn’t have any moto gear with me as this wasn’t planned), everything was clean and newer, fit great!
Super nice and competent Team. The Glory is a cool lady who can help you with all your needs. Goodluck, Gifty and Moi are very skilled Motorbike riders, who support you an the hard Tansanian Roads. The company provides reliable Motorbikes .
After watching "Africa On Two Wheels" on YT I had a feeling of what to expect. What I got was so much more: The most incredible adventure of my life. My warmest thanks to Moi (my tour guide) and to Glory (my tour manager) who both were amazing. Bikes, safety gear, accommodation, food, drinks etc..
